Tuesday, September 29th, 2009
Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter had a second workout with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, Coach Andy Reid said on his weekly radio show. Reid told radio station WIP that Trotter did a "nice job," according to an account of the show on the Eagles' Web site. The follow-up workout seems to indicate that the Eagles are giving serious consideration to signing Trotter, who last played for the team in the 2006 season and last played in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2007 season. When Mangini picked Quinn over Anderson as the Browns' starter entering the season, he tried to keep his decision temporarily under wraps for competitive reasons. But the choice didn't remain secret for as long as Mangini had hoped, as it was reported by media outlets and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens even congratulated Quinn via Twitter.

According to reports by several New York media outlets, Jets Coach Rex Ryan put wide receiver David Clowney on the team's inactive list for Sunday's triumph over the Tennessee Titans after Clowney expressed dissatisfaction on his Twitter account with his playing time the previous weekend. "I'm not a big Twitter guy, but you hear different things," Ryan said, according to the New York Post. "To me it's about your team. No individual is bigger than the team. So if I feel a guy is not putting the team first, then I'll make the decision to put the guy down. "I put David down. That was my decision. I wanted to see how David would respond. David had two options: He could have come out and been upset and pouted. Or he could come out and been a Jet, worked his tail off and showed me that he wants to
