New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw has indicated he plans to continue playing this season even after doctors found a cracked bone in his foot. Bradshaw was examined by a foot and ankle specialist Wednesday in North Carolina and reportedly has been told by doctors that the bone could break if he continues to play on it. But Bradshaw said, according to the Associated Press: "I just plan on going out there and giving it my all and if it breaks, it does. I'll get surgery. If not, I'll wait to the end of the season and hopefully at the end I won't need it, but more than likely I plan on having surgery."

According to the Kansas City Star, tailback Larry Johnson will appeal his suspension by the Kansas City Chiefs but the two sides also are discussing a possible settlement. Agent Peter Schaffer, who represents Johnson, told the Star that he's going "full bore on both" and a settlement with the Chiefs would "not necessarily" involve a parting between Johnson and the team. The Chiefs suspended Johnson until Nov. 9 for conduct detrimental to the team. With the Chiefs on their bye week, Johnson is to miss one game during the suspension. The suspension came after Johnson compared the coaching credentials of Todd Haley, the Chiefs' first-year head coach, to those of his father, Penn State defensive line coach Larry Johnson Sr., on

Wide receiver Andre Johnson participated in the Houston Texans' practice Thursday. He sat out Wednesday's practice after suffering a bruised lung during last Sunday's victory over the San Francisco 49ers. "He took probably pretty close to almost all the reps he normally takes and didn't seem to have any problems," Texans Coach Gary Kubiak said, according to the team's Web site. "We'll see how he feels." Johnson already had vowed to play this weekend. "I'm still not in any pain," Johnson said after practicing Thursday, according to the Texans' Web site. "I feel good. I feel fine. My breathing's fine when I'm out there running. Hopefully there's nothing bad when they look at the scan today."
