Clemens Is Jets’ Starter, At Least For Now
Rex Ryan, the first-year coach for the New York Jets, on Thursday named Kellen Clemens the team's No. 1 quarterback entering training camp. Ryan put prized rookie Mark Sanchez second on the depth chart and Erik Ainge third. However, Ryan also indicated that there is competition at the position. The Jets traded up to select Sanchez fifth overall in the NFL draft, and some people around the league think it's likely that he'll take over as the club's starter entering the regular season.
