Clemson’s Ford is fastest receiver

Clemson wide receiver Jacoby Ford was timed at 4.28 seconds in the 40-yard dash Sunday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. According to the NFL's Web site, Ford's time matched the second-fastest ever recorded at the combine, behind only the 4.24 seconds of running back Chris Johnson, now with the Tennessee Titans, in 2008. Ford's time tied the 4.28 seconds run by Jerome Mathis in 2005 as the fastest for a wide receiver at the combine, according to the league's Web site.
