Haley Takes Over as Chiefs’ Play-Caller
Kansas City Chiefs Coach Todd Haley took over as the team's offensive coordinator as well after ousting Chan Gailey from that job. "It was a very difficult decision for me," Haley told reporters, according to a transcript provided by the Chiefs. "I think the world of Chan as a coach. I have the greatest amount of respect for him as a coach, and as a person there is no better. But ultimately the fate of this team and the accountability falls to me. "After going through three preseason games and a lot of OTAs and a lot of practices in training camp, it just became more apparent to me that I had to be more involved.
