Randall Cunningham’s 2-year-old son dies

The 2-year-old son of former NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham died after he was found floating in a backyard hot tub Tuesday afternoon, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Christian Cunningham would have been 3 in December, according to friends of the family. Randall Cunningham, pastor of Remnant Ministries who played for the Eagles, Vikings, Ravens and Cowboys, performs baptisms in the hot tub at his home, which is near the church. A woman at Cunningham's house was with several children when she found the boy at about 4:30 p.m., Las Vegas police Lt. Dennis Flynn said. She removed the boy from the hot tub and began performing CPR. Paramedics took the child to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena campus, where he died, Flynn said. Benson charged with misdemeanor assault

Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson was arrested Tuesday in Austin, Tex. and charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly punching a bar employee in the face nearly a month ago, according to the Associated Press. Benson was booked into the Travis County jail, where he later posted bail and was released, authorities said.

Favre says no decision made yet

Quarterback Brett Favre told a Mississippi newspaper that he hasn't decided whether to return for another season with the Minnesota Vikings. "I know I can still play at a high level," Favre told the Sun Herald of Biloxi, Gulfport and South Mississippi. "Last year was a great year, but it could have been better. When [Vikings Coach Brad] Childress came to my home a few weeks ago, he told me to take my time. But the team would need to know at some point." Favre is recovering from offseason ankle surgery. Marc Bulger agrees to deal with Ravens

Free agent quarterback Marc Bulger agreed to a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. The deal is contingent upon Bulger passing a physical for the team, the Ravens announced. Bulger is to compete with Troy Smith and John Beck to be the primary backup to starter Joe Flacco. Bulger was released by the St. Louis Rams this offseason. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection in eight seasons with the Rams. Bulger made eight starts last season and threw five touchdown passes and six interceptions.

McCloughan joins Seahawks’ front office

Scot McCloughan, the former general manager of the San Francisco 49ers, joined the front office of the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks announced that they'd hired McCloughan as a senior personnel executive. He is to assist General Manager John Schneider and Will Lewis, the team's vice president of football operations. "The Seahawks are extremely excited to welcome back Scot McCloughan to the Seahawks family," Schneider said in a written statement. "Not only is Scot a good friend, he is a proven veteran talent evaluator and an extremely loyal individual. We look forward to Scot's contribution. Ravens add Hamlin

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they'd signed former Pro Bowl safety Ken Hamlin to a one-year contract. Hamlin had been released by the Dallas Cowboys. He'd worked out for the Ravens recently along with free agent cornerbacks Ken Lucas and Walt Harris. "I'm just trying to be another piece of the puzzle," Hamlin said, according to the Ravens' Web site. "The Ravens already have great talent and great players there. I'm honored for the organization to want to bring me in. This is an opportunity for me to get better and learn from guys that have been doing it well for a long time. "I'm a guy that's going to fly around and get to the ball, and I'm about to be surrounded by a lot of guys that do the same thing."
