Peppers Signs Deal With Panthers
Defensive end Julius Peppers has signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Panthers, the team has announced. The Panthers announced that Peppers signed his franchise player tender, meaning the deal is worth $16.683 million. There is no agreement that Peppers won't be franchised again next offseason, according to the Panthers. "It's not a lot different than what we've been saying," Panthers General Manager Marty Hurney said, according to the team's website. "We've had very good communication with Carl Carey [the agent for Peppers] throughout the process. "It's really a culmination of what has transpired over the past few months. Every conversation has been positive. All indications were that he was going to sign and be in for training camp."
