Rooney Confirmed as Ambassador

Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney was confirmed by the Senate on Thursday as the U.S. ambassador to Ireland. Rooney had been nominated for the position by President Barack Obama. He was approved by a voice vote. Rooney's son, team president Art Rooney II, is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the defending Super Bowl champions.
