Steelers consulted outside neurologist
According to a report by Fox, an independent neurologist recommended that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger not play in Sunday night's game at Baltimore. Roethlisberger is not scheduled to play in the game after suffering a concussion during last Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. According to the report by Fox, the Steelers weren't yet required to have Roethlisberger examined by an outside doctor but did so late in the week anyway after Roethlisberger was experiencing concussion-related symptoms. The doctor said that Roethlisberger shouldn't play in this weekend's game, Fox reported. Under a new NFL policy that's in the process of being implemented, teams are to consult with independent neurologists when players suffer concussions.
