Vick given award

According to the Associated Press, protesters gathered outside a banquet hall in the Baltimore area Tuesday where Michael Vick was honored as one of 32 players league-wide to receive the Ed Block Courage Award. Honorees were selected via votes of their teammates. "I'm very humbled to be here," Vick said prior to the ceremony, according to the AP. "I'm blessed to be voted by my peers, to be here, and this is an opportunity that I will take advantage of and cherish forever." Vick played for the Philadelphia Eagles last season after missing two NFL seasons while serving a federal sentence for his role in a dogfighting operation in Virginia.
