Vick Speaks at D.C. Church

According to The Post's Les Carpenter, roughly 75 people were in attendance Tuesday at a church in Southwest D.C. to hear Michael Vick give a cautionary speech warning them not to make the same sort of mistakes that he'd made. "Anything can happen when you're fighting dogs at 2 or 3 in the morning," Vick said, according to Carpenter's account in Wednesday's Post. "I'm blessed to be before you and still have my life. It's like standing on the corner and dealing drugs. It's a criminal life." Vick made the afternoon appearance at Covenant Baptist Church along with representatives of the Humane Society. He has made a series of appearances in several cities in recent months as part of the Humane Society's anti-dogfighting campaign.
